Google on Monday detailed the feature sets and usage limits for its Gemini app across three subscription levels.

All users receive general access to the Gemini 2.5 Flash model, which remains the default. No-cost users also gain limited preview of Gemini 2.5 Pro, optimized for reasoning, math and code, with testing scheduled to expand later this year.

Subscribers to Google AI Pro, priced at $19.99 per month, secure expanded access to Gemini 2.5 Pro with a daily query limit of 100. On June 15, Google updated capacity limits and pledged to raise them as demand grows.

Google AI Ultra, at $249.99 per month, grants the highest access tier to 2.5 Pro and will soon include a Deep Think mode and an Agent mode for task automation. AI Ultra users also enjoy a context window of one million tokens—roughly 1,500 pages of text or 30,000 lines of code—while no-cost users remain capped at 32,000 tokens.

Document upload and analysis span from DOCX and PDF files to slides; spreadsheet and tabular data support (XLSX, CSV) require an AI Pro or Ultra subscription. Both paid tiers can also process code repositories in C, C++, Java, Python, PHP, SQL and HTML for insight, debugging and optimization.

No-cost users may set chat preferences to persist across sessions. AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can invoke past chats by referencing topics or timeframes, enabling summaries that cite previous exchanges.

Deep Research, Google’s agentic research tool, provides multi-point research plans with web search, analysis and report generation. The no-cost plan runs on 2.5 Flash, AI Pro uses 2.5 Pro and AI Ultra gains full-capacity research access.

All tiers include image generation using Imagen 4, with native editing via text prompts. Audio Overviews follow a similar tiered access model. Video generation remains limited to paid subscribers: AI Pro users receive three 8-second 720p clips per day via Veo 3 Fast (reverting to Veo 2 afterward), while AI Ultra produces full-featured clips with sound.

Google is rolling out Scheduled Actions, allowing users to queue up to 10 automated prompts that run at set times or after events, with mobile and web controls to edit, pause or delete.

Additional features include Gems for task-specific custom assistants, Gemini Live, and camera and screen sharing. The company encourages users to add 9to5Google to their Google News feed for ongoing updates.
